2012 MLB All-Star Voting: Ryan Cook Named Lone Oakland Athletic On AL Squad

Stay connected for news and updates

The Oakland Athletics will not be brimming with All-Stars this season unfortunately as pitcher Ryan Cook has been named the lone member of the A's to make the 2012 MLB All-Star squad for the American League.

The Oakland rookie will be making his first All-Star appearance (obviously), bringing an outstanding resume along with him to the party. In 34 appearances this season (34 innings pitched), he's given up just 12 hits along with just six runs as well. He currently is sporting a 37/21 K/BB ratio this season, as well as a 1.59 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and six saves in nine attempts, though 2 of those blown saves have come in his last four starts.

The All-Star Game will be played on Tuesday, July 10 from Kaufmann Stadium in Kasas City, MO.
