Giants vs. Padres, MLB Scores: Beltran's Bomb, Lincecum's Dominance Lift Giants 2-1

It was a foggy Wednesday evening at AT&T Park as the San Francisco Giants were looking to split their two game series with the San Diego Padres. Carlos Beltran returned to the starting lineup, and despite not being 100% still managed to hit his first homer as a Giant, backing Tim Lincecum's brilliant performance as the Giants took the victory 2-1.

Lincecum (W 12-10) was a bulldog on the mound tonight, throwing 124 pitches in his eight innings of work tonight, holding the Pads to only one run on four hits, while walking five and fanning seven. Timmy wasn't getting many first pitch strikes (11/31) and worked himself into many a hitter's count, but managed to work his way out of all of them aside from a Orlando Hudson triple in the sixth.

Beltran silenced some critics after blasting his first long bomb ever at AT&T Park, his 16th of the year to get the Giants on the board. He immediately went back and put a heating pad on his wrist, and said after the game that he is not 100%. He still finished 2-4. Brandon Belt hit his first major league triple in the fifth, later scoring on a Tim Lincecum RBI single. The 'Belt brothers' were the only Giants with multiple hits tonight.

Santiago Casilla was dominant in the ninth, fanning two on his way to his fist save of 2011, while Tim Stauffer (L 8-10) was solid in his six innings tonight, holding the Giants to just the two runs on six hits along with one strikeout.

With the win the Giants move to 69-61 on the year. Full box score can be found here
