Giants vs. Pirates, Startling Lineup Preview: Matt Cain In Tonight, Ryan Vogelsong Pitching Thursday

Tonight, Matt Cain of the San Francisco Giants is taking the mound, looking to rebound from his first loss of the season, in which he gave up nine hits, six runs (all earned) and walked two while fanning six. It was a game that the Giants lost 10-2. They'll stick with Ross batting seventh while he continues to get back into the swing of things (no pun intended), and Rowand continues to bat leadoff with the absence of Andres Torres, still on the disabled list.

In other news line-up related but nor pertinent to tonight's game: Ryan Vogelsong will be making his first start on Thursday to get the pitching rotation back together in lieu of Barry Zito being available, as he's on the disabled list. It was previously thought that the Giants might skip Zito's turn again in the rotation, but apparently not.
