Giants v. Royals, 2011 Spring Training Scores: Giants Fall 15-3 to Royals, Extend Losing Streak to Five

For the fifth night in a row the San Francisco Giants have gotten demolished in their Cactus League schedule, losing to the Kansas City Royals by a score of 15-3 at Sunrise Stadium in Sunrise, Arizona.

Madison Bumgarner had a rough night as he gave up 8 runs of 10 hits in 4 and 1/3 innings of work while striking out five and walking none. His replacements didn’t far much better, especially Santiago Casilla who gave up another five runs in only 2/3 innings of work.

As for the stagnent Giants offense, their runs came off of singles from Pablo Sandoval and Miguel Tejada, as well as a double by Eli Whiteside who played his first game since coming down with the stomach flu earlier this week. With the loss the Giants move to 18-11, now tied for first place in the Cactus League.

The Giants finish their Cactus League schedule tomorrow against the the Cincinnati Reds, with the first pitch scheduled for 3:05 p.m. You can catch the game on NBC Bay Area as well as KNBR 680.
