Randy Moss To Make 1st Start With 49ers Against Broncos

Stay connected for news and updates

According to various sources, Randy Moss will make his first start at wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers when they take on the Denver Broncos in a preseason game on Sunday.

Moss will see more time at the receiver position with fellow wideout Mario Manningham not playing as he grieves the loss of someone close to him. Running backs Brandon Jacobs and LaMichael James will all be out with injuries and did not make the trip to Denver.

Moss returned to the NFL after briefly retiring and is searching for a rhythm with quarterback Alex Smith. Moss had three receptions for 24 yards in the 49ers' last exhibition game against the Houston Texas, a 20-9 loss.

Niners-Broncos will feature two future Hall of Famers whose careers were in question fairly recently, in Moss and Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning.
