2012 NFL Draft Results: Tennessee Titans Select Kendall Wright, A Potential 49ers Target

With the No. 20 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans have selected wide receiver Kendall Wright out of Baylor.

Wright is one of the top wide receivers in the draft, and was mocked all over the place, from the top-end of the draft to the back-end of the first round, even falling into the second in some mocks. Many mocks did have him going before the San Francisco 49ers at No. 30, while most had them taking Wright whenever he happened to be available.

That's because the 49ers have a perceived need at the wide receiver position. They have no true No. 1 receiver, despite the signings of Randy Moss and Mario Manningham this offseason. They've also got Michael Crabtree, but nobody in that group really stands out, and it stands to reason that the 49ers would have been very interested in Wright had he been around at No. 30.

Here's what Mocking The Draft had to say about Wright in their scouting report:

Wright while at Baylor, was known for his ability to get separation, his speed, and burst to consistently get open downfield. He had a very productive senior season, playing with 2012 Heisman Trophy winner QB Robert Griffin III, hauling in 101 receptions, 1,572 yards, and 13 touchdowns. Overall, he is a competitive, tough, and smart football player who sometimes wears his emotions on his sleeve. Wright's ability to get consistent separation with his speed and burst will likely get him drafted in the first round. He would be an ideal fit with the Houston Texans playing alongside of Andre Johnson.
