Four 49ers Make Sports Illustrated's Midseason All-Pro Team

Stay connected for news and updates

We've made it to the half way point in the NFL season this year, and the San Francisco 49ers find themselves in a place they haven't been in a long, long time; atop the NFC West and looking like a shoe-in for a playoff berth. That hasn't come just by chance though, as a number of players have been stepping up big time, so much so that four 49ers made Sports Illustrated's Midseason All-Pro Team, and they might not be the one's who would expect off the top of your head.

Peter King was responsible for making this list, with the All-Pro 49ers as follows:

Defense:

NaVarro Bowman, ILB

Justin Smith, DE-T

Special Teams:

Andy Lee, P

Coach of the Year:

Jim Harbaugh

OK, one of the winners isn't a player, but it's  still a great distinction, no? Did you expect to see Patrick Willis or Frank Gore on this list? I know I did. But these three guys are some of the best in the business, and are more than deserving of this pat on the back from SI.

The only other player from the NFC West to make the list is safety Kam Chancellor for the Seahawks. So neener, neener, neener...
