49ers vs. Lions Injury Report: Braylon Edwards And Two Others Out, Six 49ers Limited

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their big match-up against the Detroit Lions this weekend in the Motor City and hope to be as healthy as possible when they face the 5-0 upstarts. As of Wednesday's practice, the 49ers have three players out and six limited.

Cornerback Tramaine Brock (hand), wide receiver Braylon Edwards (knee) and running back Morran Norris (fibula) are out and won't play on Sunday. Guard Mike Lupati also did not practice on Wednesday but could see time this weekend.

Linebacker Navarro Bowman (neck), wide receiver Michael Crabtree (feet), safety Dashon Goldson (knee), guard Adam Snyder (forearm), defensive tackle Isaac Sopoaga (infection) and cornerback Shawtae Spencer (toe) were limited on Wednesday.

Of those players, Crabtree and Sopoaga will most definitely play. Crabtree has played in recent weeks and was probably just taking some rest during practice. Sopoaga missed last week's game with a staph infection, but the Sacramento Bee's Matt Barrows had an interesting exchange with Sopoaga that seems to indicate that he will be on the field come Sunday.

On another bright note for the 49ers, wide receiver Ted Ginn did practice fully on Wednesday and should be ready or near ready to make his return against the Lions.

The Lions will be without five players on Sunday, namely cornerback Aaron Berry (groin), safety Erik Coleman (ankle), wide receiver Rashied Davis (foot), linebacker Justin Durant (concussion) and tight end Tony Scheffler (concussion). Detroit also had eight players limited on Wednesday.

The 49ers seem to be in fairly good shape injury-wise for Sunday's game. They will need to be both healthy and disciplined to hand Detroit its first loss of the season.
