SB Nation released their Week 11 NFL Power Rankings and as expected the San Francisco 49ers received a nice little bump courtesy of their 23-20 overtime victory over the St. Louis Rams. Losses this week saw Minnesota, Cincinnati, Detroit, and Arizona all come crashing down past the 49ers.
The 49ers face another huge challenge this week as they host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who are 6-3 and ranked No. 11 in the SB Nation. A win over the Bucs would surely mean a sizable increase in the rankings next week, as well as a key win in a potential playoff push.
The Raiders were on a bye this week getting ready to head to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers. The bye cost them a spot in the rankings as they were surpassed by the Bucs. The Steelers, Giants, and Ravens all lost ahead of them but they had some cushion in their rankings and thus didn’t fall behind the Raiders. It’s safe to say that if the Raiders somehow knock off the Steelers at Heinz Field they’ll take a monstrous step forward in both the power rankings and in a potential playoff bid.
