2012 NBA Mock Draft: Harrison Barnes Taken By Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings could use a small forward; it's undoubtedly their weakest position and the spot they need to improve upon the most . If Michael Kidd-Gilchrist fell to them that would be ideal, but it's likely he'll be scooped up earlier. That means Sacramento will probably have to rely on their backup options to find the player they're looking for at the small forward position.

Matt Moore of CBS releases his latest mock, and it has the Kings taking one of those possible options in Harrison Barnes of North Carolina.

There's a lot of talk about Barnes going higher, and it would be a pretty big mistake. He has the potential to be somewhere between Tracy McGrady and Antawn Jamison, or he can be Marvin Williams. The Kings can afford this gamble and need a small forward. If they keep the pick, this is a natural fit.

Barnes isn't planning to work out with Sacramento though, which could put some hampering on this projection.

Talk about Barnes with Kings fans and whether he'd fit in Sacramento over at Sactown Royalty. Discuss Barnes with North Carolina fans at Carolina March.
