Raiders head coach Dennis Allen will get a first hand look at NFL Draft prospects as he is set to coach the North team in the upcoming Senior Bowl.

Not a ton went right for the Oakland Raiders this year. The team finished the season 4-12, struggling to find any consistency on both sides of the ball and fired offensive coordinator Greg Knapp along with several other assistants at season's end. Despite that, there is a bit of good news for the Raiders and it relates directly to April's NFL Draft. According to Yahoo! Sports, head coach Dennis Allen and his staff will coach the North team in the Senior Bowl later this month.

''It's a great opportunity for the Raiders,'' Allen said. ''It gives us a chance to get a solid evaluation on these players. We get a better feel on them because we see them in meetings, we work with them in practice, and we can determine whether their personality would fit well in our locker room.''

The Raiders will pick third in April's draft. Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz and his staff will coach the South team. The 2012 Senior Bowl is Saturday, January 26 at Ladd-Pebbles Stadium in Mobile, Ala.
