The Raiders were able to mount a second-half comeback this past Sunday when Carson Palmer took over the play-calling in their no-huddle offense.


Raiders beat Jaguars in overtime, 26-23

Sebastian Janikowski kicked a 40-yard field goal in overtime to give the Raiders a 26-23 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.


Raiders trail Jaguars 17-6 at halftime

The Oakland Raiders trail the Jacksonville Jaguars by a score of 17-6 at halftime.

The Raiders have been unable to sustain a lengthy drive to put points on the board, save for a 59 yard completion to Darrius Heyward-Bey (GIF below) and a field goal at the end of the half.



The Jaguars have suffered two major injuries, losing quarterback Blaine Gabbert and running back Maurice Jones-Drew at different points in the game.

In place of the injured Jones-Drew, who left the game in the first quarter, Rashad Jennings was able to score on a five yard touchdown run early in the second quarter.

Following an interception by Carson Palmer, the Jaguars added three more points thanks to a 50-yard field goal by kicker Josh Scobee.

The Raiders responded with a field goal to make the score 17-6 going into the break after the Jaguars failed to convert on a fourth-and-one opportunity.


Raiders trail Jaguars 7-3 after first quarter

The Oakland Raiders trail the Jacksonville Jaguars 7-3 after the first quarter of play at the Coliseum.

The Raiders got on the scoreboard first, knocking in a 21-yard field goal by kicker Sebastian Janikowski following a seven play, 69-yard drive. That possession was spurred by a 59-yard completion from Carson Palmer to Darrius Heyward-Bey.

Jacksonville responded a few minutes later, putting up a touchdown on a 42-yard pass from Blaine Gabbert to Cecil Shorts III.

Jacksonville suffered a major loss in the quarter after star running back Maurice Jones-Drew left the game with a left foot injury. His return is listed as questionable, and he had two rushes for six yards at the time of the injury.

Oakland has 75 yards of total offense compared to Jacksonville's 111. Palmer has 71 yards on 4/7 passing with no interceptions. Running back Darren McFadden has just four yards on five carries thus far.
