2012 NFL Draft Results: Oakland Raiders Select Nate Stupar At No. 230

With the 230th pick in the 2012 NFL draft, the Oakland Raiders select Nate Stupar, outside linebacker, out of Penn State. This is the Oakland Raiders final pick of the 2012 NFL draft. Their original seventh round pick was traded during the 2011 NFL season when the Raider acquired outside linebacker Aaron Curry from the Seattle Seahawks. The Raiders acquired this pick when they traded their first pick in the 5th round for a pick ten spots back and this seventh round pick.

Taking a linebacker from linebacker U can never be a bad thing right? Stupar offers good quality in the seventh round. He is a smart guy who loves to play football. He will likely be able to contribute on special teams pretty early in his career and could develop into a solid back up. The Raiders were in need of linebackers heading into the draft and have come out with two of them.

No. 95 (Third Round): OL Tony Bergstrom, Utah
No. 129 (Fourth Round): OLB Miles Burris, San Diego State
No. 158 (Fifth Round): DE Jack Crawford, Penn State
No. 168 (Fifth Round): WR Juron Criner, Arizona
No. 189 (Sixth Round): DT Christo Bilukidi, Georgia State

No. 230 (Seventh Round): OLB Nate Stupar, Penn State
