2012 NFL Draft: Raiders Draft DE Christo Bilukidi

With the 189th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders selected Christo Bilukidi, defensive end out of Georgia State. Bilukidi was not invited to the NFL Combine and was projected by some as a free agent, so he is likely satisfied with a sixth round pick. A captain of the Georgia State Panthers squad, Bilukidi was born in Angola and has lived in France, Brazil, and Canada.

He started both the 2010 and 2011 seasons, putting together a combined 89 tackles, 16 for a loss, with 10 sacks and three forced fumbles. 6'4" and 311lbs, he moves well for a man his size but was inconsistent against lower level competition and likely faces a stiff learning curve when facing NFL level expectations. Bilukidi will likely see time on the practice squad, where the Raiders will see if he can translate size and athleticism into genuine professional football skill.
