2012 NFL Draft Results: Denver Broncos Select Ronnie Hillman With 67th Pick

The Denver Broncos have a history of developing mid- and late round running backs over the year. After selecting defensive tackle Derek Wolfe and quarterback Brock Osweiler in the second round, the Broncos moved up in the third round to select San Diego State running back Ronnie Hillman.

Hillman, who rushed for 1,711 yards and 19 touchdowns last season, is a bit undersized at 5'8, but he clocked in at 200lbs at the NFL Combine. A quick, shifty runner who doesn't tend to dance around in the backfield, many feel he could be an everyday back in the NFL. There are a few concerns about his durability, though, and if he will be able to handle the rigors of a 16-game season.

Here is more from Sports Illustrated on Hillman:

illman has been incredibly productive the two years he started at San Diego State and offers the football skills to be used as a rotational ballcarrier in the NFL.

The Broncos will pick next in the fourth round, which will begin on Saturday morning.
