2012 NFL Draft Results: Chargers Select Kendall Reyes With 49th Pick

With the No. 49 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the San Diego Chargers selected Kendall Reyes, defensive tackle out of Connecticut. Offensive lineman Courtney Hall was on hand to announce the pick for San Diego. He called them the "Super Chargers."

Reyes joins the Chargers' first-round draft choice, Melvin Ingram, the defensive end out of South Carolina. Ingram was regarded as one of the best values in the draft where the Chargers took him at No. 18 (shocking, there were teams that actually stayed at their pick and used it!) and they're building on that each day. When the final grades come out, folks will rate the Chargers highly solely based on Ingram alone - everything else is just gravy.

Here's what the National Football Post had to say about Reyes in their scouting report:

Impression: Displays some natural talent and did a better job at Senior Bowl playing with a lower pad level. If he can continue to play lower should be able to fight for a starting role in both a 34 or 43 scheme as a three or five technique.
