The Oakland Raiders saw some talent that they liked at their voluntary veteran mini-camp earlier this week, so much so they have decided to sign free agent wide receiver Duke Calhoun to the Silver and Black.

Originally undrafted in 2010 out of the University of Memphis, Calhoun was picked up by the New York Giants during the college free-agency period, spending 2010 on the squad. He saw action in seven games, but caught just one pass for a total of four yards.
Calhoun played in 49 games with 26 starts at Memphis, finishing with 212 catches for 2,981 yards along with 19 touchdowns. He holds a number of Memphis school records, including 10 games with at least 100 yards receiving, as well as the fact that he caught at least one ball in every game he played.
He will competete for a roster spot with guys like Darrius Heyward-Bey, Denarius Moore, Jacoby Ford and Louis Murphy, so he will certainly have an uphill battle to make the squad.
