TE Kevin Boss Plans To Be Ready For Season Opener Despite Sprained MCL

Oakland Raiders tight end Kevin Boss has begun doing some light running and workouts again after spraining his MCL, and plans on being ready for the team’s season opener on September 12 according to Jerry McDonald of the Oakland Tribune.

Boss was injured during the Raiders’ preseason match with the San Francisco 49ers back on August 20, and has been making sure to take it easy ever since. Boss feels well enough to begin his rehab, though he won’t have a lot of time to get ready for their meeting with the Broncos at INVESCO field week one.

“It’s definitely frustrating, but trying to look at the bright side of it, it could have been a lot worse,” Boss said. “Luckily my leg wasn’t planted.”

Boss joined the team as a free agent this summer, looking to fill the shoes of pro-bowl TE Zach Miller, now with the Seattle Seahawks. Oakland will definitely be in need of him come week one, as he may have some of the best hands on the squad.
