Lito Sheppard Has Signed With The Oakland Raiders

In a move that has been overshadowed by the signing of Terrelle Pryor, today, the Oakland Raiders, have shored up their defensive backfield by signing veteran defensive back, Lito Sheppard, who will reportedly be in Napa as early as today..

Sheppard is a former All-Pro and two time Pro Bowl defensive back with the Philadelphia Eagles. At 30 years of age he will be looked upon as another veteran in the defensive backfield.

In his career, Sheppard has tallied 19 interceptions while defending 82 others.

In desperate need of a nickle back with starting experience and a defensive back who can be counted on to play on either side, Sheppard, is a wise pick-up, as he has done both in his career.

This acquisition has already made the Oakland Raiders a better team at 10AM PST than they were at 10 AM EST.

This also shows that veteran players are willing to come to the Raiders again. A couple of years ago, a veteran corner, like Sheppard, would have openly passed on coming to Oakland.

(Lito's last name, Sheppard, was misspelled as "Shepherd" in the official release, so please excuse any misspellings of his name)
