Darren McFadden Injury Update: Out For Sunday, But Reportedly No Setback

The Oakland Raiders diagnosed running back Darren McFadden with a sprained foot almost two months ago and he remains sidelined with not even limited workouts to encourage Raiders fans. Head coach Hue Jackson was asked about whether there have been any setbacks with McFadden's rehab. Jackson said there were no setbacks that in reality there had been more positives along the way and that McFadden was getting closer to returning.

That return is not expected to happen this weekend against the Green Bay Packers. The Raiders will face the undefeated defending Super Bowl champions at Lambeau Field hoping to hang with them with Michael Bush carrying the load. Even backup Taiwan Jones is struggling to get healthy for the game, which leaves Bush with the carries and Rock Cartwright and Marcel Reece backing him up.

The Raiders are potentially short-handed at receiver with Jacoby Ford and Denarius Moore struggling to get healthy, which makes Michael Bush's role all the more important. If Ford and Moore sit on Sunday, the Raiders simply do not have the weapons to hang in a shootout. They will need to control the clock and keep Aaron Rodgers off the field. If they can do that, they have a chance.
