Darren McFadden Injury Update: Raiders Running Back Improving, Still Day To Day

The Oakland Raiders have been struggling as of late, but remain in the playoff chase. They are certainly missing one of their key players in running back Darren McFadden, who has been out with a foot injury

The star tailback has a Lisfranc foot injury, which is a bit more serious than the more common and similar mid-foot strain. McFadden initially injured his right foot in the first quarter of a game against the Kansas City Chiefs way back in Week 7. He has not played ina game since, and head coach Hue Jackson has repeatedly stated that he would not bring McFadden back until he is at 100%.

On Monday, John Dickinson of 95.7 FM provided a small update on McFadden straight from Jackson himself:

Coach Jackson says McFadden is running around better than he had been. Still views him as day to day. #Raiders@957thegame

"Day-to-day" may sound more promising than it actually is. Jackson refused to rule out McFadden for several games in a row right up until game time. It is unlikely that McFadden will play again this season, but it is good news to hear that he is regaining mobility.
