Oakland Raiders linebacker Rolando McClain has been arrested in Decatur, Alabama and charged with third degree assault according to Decatur PD Lt. John Crouch. McClain reportedly discharged a firearm within the city limits of Decatur, which is the extent of the assault charge. No additional details were made available.
The Raiders are aware of the situation but have no additional comment at this point. Hue Jackson is currently addressing the media as he normally does, but it is doubtful he will have anything to add on the situation. Much of the next few days actions will depend on how the legal process works itself out. Third degree assault is a class A misdemeanor in Alabama.
McClain was in Decatur for a family funeral and a fight broke out around 10:20 p.m. One person was reportedly injured in the fight and gunshots were fired at some point. The one victim drove himself to the hospital and was later released. This is the second incident where Rolando McClain's name has been peripherally attached to a gun incident.
