Oakland Raiders Might Have Jason Campbell Returning Soon

Stay connected for news and updates

The Oakland Raiders have had to revamp their season once quarterback Jason Campbell went down with what looked like a long season-ending injury. The Raiders had to turn to Carson Palmer as their main guy for the rest of the season to try and keep their playoff hopes afloat. Palmer has managed things well in his absence, and Oakland is still on pace to win the AFC West and get back to the playoffs.

Which is why the team could be in an awkward situation very soon.

Coach Jackson said QB Jason Campbell is starting to throw. "Not very far, but he’s pitching it around a little bit and he's getting better."

The debate between Campbell and Palmer wouldn't be a divisive one--Palmer is clearly the guy the Raiders have to roll with now, lest they risk a locker room division if Hue Jackson decided to bench him. Palmer really doesn't provide a downside from Campbell and might actually be an overall upgrade.

But Campbell coming back does provide Oakland with a solid backup option in case Palmer gets injured again, so it could be a win-win for the team when all is said and done.
