Carson Palmer, Kyle Boller Both Taking Oakland Raiders Pre-Game QB Snaps

Stay connected for news and updates

The Oakland Raiders quarterback situation remains fairly nebulous with a little over an hour left until kickoff. The Raiders acquired Carson Palmer for a 2012 first round pick and a 2013 second round pick that could turn into a first. There were rumblings early in the week that Palmer would get the start, but that changed late in the week as it became apparent Palmer might need some more time to get ready to start.

Prior to Sunday's Raiders-Chiefs game, we have seen some mixed messages, although it seems like Boller is likely to get the start. According to Jerry McDonald, Carson Palmer was out early taking some snaps but taking some time in between throws. He was throwing exclusively with practice squad receiver Eddie McGee. According to Paul Gutierrez, Palmer got mixed back in for reps with Kyle Boller and Terrelle Pryor and wrapped the morning working exclusively with Marcel Reece in shorts and a t-shirt.

As it currently stands, it is safe to say nobody knows what will happen at this point other than Hue Jackson. We will probably get some news soon, but it would not be remotely surprising to see Jackson reveal nothing until he sends his first team offense on the field to start the game.
