Athletics Vs. Yankees Preview: A's Look To Stop Skid, Hold On To Wild Card Spot

The Oakland Athletics face the New York Yankees on Saturday, with the A's looking to maintain their hold on the second AL Wild Card spot. They currently hold a 3.5 game lead on the Los Angeles Angels but the A's have lost four of thier last five, including a 10-inning loss to the Yankees on Friday night.

Travis Blackley (5-3, 3.36 ERA) will take the hill for Oakland. Blackley has pitched primarily out of the bullpen in September. His most recent start was Aug. 29, when he struck out five while giving up two runs on three hits over 5⅔ innings. Ivan Nova (12-7, 4.85 ERA) will pitch for New York. He's 1-0 in two games against the A's this season, giving up a combined five runs on 15 hits over 13⅔ innings.
