The Angels will visit the A's for a three-game series with big implications. One of these two teams will end the series in second place in the American League West.
The Oakland A's hit a bit of a stumbling block over the weekend as they had to settle for splitting a four-game series against the visiting Toronto Blue Jays. Beginning on Monday, they'll face a much tougher opponent and a divisional rival in the Los Angeles Angels. As the Angels arrive in town, the A's hold a half-game lead over them for second place in the American League West. The A's will be trying to extend that lead and gain a little breathing room over the course of the season.
The Angels have had issues with their bullpen being able to hold leads all season. Since the A's will be playing at O.co Coliseum, where they hold and MLB-leading 13 walk-off wins, they may be licking their chops in anticipation. Hopefully the L.A. bullpen can give them some pitches to feast on.
