The Many Ramirez experiment in Oakland never started.

The Oakland Athletics have released Manny Ramirez, according to an official release from the club. Ramirez was required to serve a 50-game suspension to begin the year due to a positive test for performance enhancing drugs, which he completed on May 30.

The former slugger was currently playing with Triple-A Sacramento while attempting his comeback to the Major Leagues, but it appeared Manny no longer felt the drive to keep playing.

The A's never really expected too much from Ramirez, but he came cheap and sparked some interest in the club. At the end of the day though, his performance in Triple-A did not warrant a spot on the 25-man roster. For as successful and as rich as Manny is, he probably didn't enjoy the aspects of Minor League Baseball. It's understandable for the two sides to part ways, which is the best move for all parties involved.
