Athletics Vs. Yankees Final Score: Oakland Shut Out, 2-0

The Oakland Athletics were hoping to make the rest of the American League stand up and take notice as they hosted the New York Yankees over the weekend, but things didn't quite work out that way. With a 2-0 loss on Sunday, the A's were swept in three straight games at O.co Coliseum.

Andruw Jones led off the top of the second inning with a home run to get the Yankees on the board. The score stayed at 1-0 until the top of the seventh, when Mark Teixeira continued his hot series by doubling home Curtis Granderson.

The A's were effectively shut down by New York starter Hiroki Kuroda, who allowed just four hits and one walk over eight innings of work. The A's managed just five hits in the game, all singles.

Tom Milone pitched effectively for Oakland, but allowed two runs and eight hits over 6.2 innings.
