A's Spring Training: Manny Ramirez Out For A's In Dodgers Cactus League Game

The Oakland Athletics' Wednesday Cactus League game against the Los Angeles Dodgers was going to be the first time that Manny Ramirez, who signed a minor-league contract with the A's, was going to face the Dodgers, his old team with whom he played for in 2008, 2009 and 2010.

According to SB Nation LA's Eric Stephen, the reunion never took place as Ramirez was a last second scratch due to back stiffness.

The scheduled reunion, however, didn't happen, as Ramirez was a late scratch with back stiffness. Chris Carter took Ramirez's spot in the lineup, batting cleanup as the designated hitter.

Ramirez was once one of the best ball players in Major League Baseball and is best known for his years as a Boston Red Sox outfielder and before that with the Cleveland Indians. He's now at the end of his career but his name still has the ability to fill some seats.
