Sacramento Kings' rookie forward Thomas Robinson was suspended two games by the NBA on Thursday after receiving a Flagrant Foul 2 for elbowing Detorit's Jonas Jerebko.

The incident occurred during the fourth quarter of Wednesday's game. Robinson and Jerebko were tied up on a rebound attempt before Robinson elbowed Jerebko in the throat. Robinson was immediately assessed a Flagrant Fout 2 and ejected from the game.

After staying down on the court momentarily, Jerebko remained in the game. Robinson later apologized for the incident on his Twitter account, saying he lost his cool.

Robinson was suspended without pay and will miss the Kings' upcoming games against the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Lakers. He averaged 4.4 points and 3.6 rebounds over the first five games of his NBA career.
