Chris Webber starts production company

Matthew Emmons-US PRESSWIRE

Former Kings star Chris Webber will produce a line of sports films and documentaries.

Chris Webber, who many believe was the greatest Sacramento King in franchise history, has announced he will begin a production company that will make a line of sports films and documentaries. The movies will focus on the complex social issues that come with sports in today's world. Webber Productions also hopes to get into organizing live events, cultural exhibitions, music and film projects.

"I am happy to start a company with a man like Peter Gilbert, who has proven to be one of the best in documentary film work. I look forward to learning from him and telling great stories around my passions, my community and my world with him," Webber said.

Webber has spent the last few years as an analyst for TNT, working both as a color commentator for games and in the studio for its nightly highlight show. He has also served as an ambassador to keep the Kings in Sacramento as new arena and relocation talks loom over the city.
