The Golden State Warriors aren't expected to give Stephen Curry a contract extension this offseason.
Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry is going to spend much of the offseason trying to fix up his often-injured ankles. Curry has proven that he's a capable shooter and can also distribute the ball when needed. But handling the load at point guard hasn't always been easy, and you have to figure the Warriors will really try to keep his minutes down at the position so as not to tax him too much.
You can see why the Warriors would be skittish about signing Curry this offseason to a massive extension and try to lock him down. Ken Berger of CBS Sports has more on what the Warriors plan to do with Curry, and it makes sense to not keep him deep into the future.
Early indications are that an extension for Stephen Curry with Golden State "will not happen this year," according to a source.
