The Golden State Warriors are looking for more versatility, and they do seem to be interested in upgrading themselves at the small forward position. Their biggest interest this offseason is getting a great player at the three like Rudy Gay or Andre Iguodala. It might even go beyond that, as the Warriors seem to be interested in getting a lot of quality players this offseason.
Josh Howard does seem to be one of those players interested in joining up with Golden State. Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle has this to report.
Free-agent swingman Josh Howard has shown interest in playing for the Warriors, according to team sources. The 6-foot-7, 210-pound 32-year-old and Warriors scouting director Larry Riley were together in Dallas (2003-06).
The Warriors want an upgrade at their starting small-forward spot, but Howard probably isn't a better option than Brandon Rush, Richard Jefferson or Dorell Wright. Howard, who had his best season in 2007-08 but could wind up playing for his fourth team in four years this fall, averaged 8.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists for Utah last season.
Talk about Howard and how he'd fit for the Warriors by going over to Golden State of Mind.
