2012 NBA Draft: St. John's Prospect Moe Harkless To Attend Warriors Workout

St. John's prospect Moe Harkless will attend a group workout for the Golden State Warriors, reports Tim Kawakami via Twitter. Harkless is someone the Warriors have been looking at for some time, as SB Nation Bay Area has previously reported.

Harkless has good size and is considered a raw player, but he did perform well enough to earn Big East Rookie of the Year honors. He averaged 15.3 points and 8.6 rebounds per game for the Red Storm. He was ranked 17th in Draft Express' Top 100 Prospects, and they had this to say:

Harkless definitely looks the part of a NBA player from a physical standpoint. Standing somewhere around 6'8 with an excellent wingspan and a wiry frame, he has ideal size for the NBA small forward position. He must continue to get stronger, but should have no problem doing so in time as he matures and his body fills out. He is a very good athlete as well, looking fluid and explosive around the basket, and showing a solid first step and excellent quickness in transition. Furthermore, Harkless is a scrappy player, with solid energy and aggressiveness, which allows him to capitalize on his athletic potential.

The Warriors have the seventh overall pick, so a selection of Harkless would be a jump up the board for him. Things rarely shake out as expected at the draft, though, so we'll have to wait and see who the Warriors select.
