2012 NBA Mock Draft: Jared Sullinger Taken By Golden State Warriors

Stay connected for news and updates

The Golden State Warriors will have the 7th overall pick at the 2012 NBA Draft. While the team already has some talent on the roster, they could certainly benefit from a strong showing in the first round. This is a team that has not drafted very well in recent years, and there is a considerable drop off in talent after the first five picks or so.

The latest mock draft from Jeff Goodman of CBS Sports has the Warriors going with Ohio State big man Jared Sullinger.

Jared Sullinger, PF, Ohio State: He checked in at a legit 6-foot-9 at the combine -- and he's a guy who can give Mark Jackson and the Warriors an insurance policy for Andrew Bogut and added depth up-front.

Sullinger certainly has the size and strength to be an impact player in the paint for years to come, but his weight and conditioning have been issues in the past. And while he appears to be one of the more NBA-ready players in the draft, his lack of a solid mid-range jump shot and limited athleticism will likely limit his potential down the road.
