The Golden State Warriors could really use more strength in their frontcourt. The Warriors have always struggled with rebounding and shotblocking, and their interior has always been a question mark.
Josh Smith could be just who the doctor ordered. The athletic forward is coming off his best year as an NBA player, and he's really in good shape to contribute for a long time at the age of 26. Marcus Thompson II of the Bay Area News Group reports that the Warriors would love to have him, and with a top seven draft pick and several other picks they have the bargaining chips.
Would the Hawks be willing to part with Smith? Atlanta might be ready to overhaul their roster after losing in the first round, and Smith might not be willing to sign an extension. That'd make the Hawks open to dealing him, which could make Golden State very interested in him.
Talk about Smith with Hawks fans at Peachtree Hoops. Talk about how Smith would fit in with Golden State over at Golden State of Mind.
