Bob Myers is the new general manager of the Golden State Warriors after getting promoted from the assistant GM job; Larry Riley is demoted to scouting director.

The Golden State Warriors are having a shakeup in management. No one is getting fired, but people are getting shuffled around.

Myers has spent one year with the Warriors as an assistant general manager. Previous to that, he spent 14 years as a player representative as the Wasserman Media Group, representing players like DeAndre Jordan, Brandon Roy and Brook Lopez. His experience as a general manager in the league is non-existent, so we'll see how well this translates for Myers.

Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle has more from someone who knows Myers well.

Riley is moving over to scouting, where he will remain on the team as a director in that position.

To discuss the news with Warriors fans and decide whether Myers is an upgrade over Riley, head on over to Golden State of Mind.
