Warriors Vs. Spurs, Halftime Score: Monta Ellis, Steph Curry Dominate First Half, Warriors Lead 53-45

The Golden State Warriors are looking to end a 26-game winless streak at the AT&T Center Wednesday night against the San Antonio Spurs, and without Manu Ginobli, it may just be their time. And after a first half that saw Monta Ellis and Steph Curry shoot lights out form the floor, the Warriors have a eight point lead heading into the locker room by the score of 53-45.

The offense was firing in the first quarter as Monta and Steph scored 21 of the team's 26 in the first quarter, shooting a combined 9-11 from the floor while finishing with a 16-7 run. The defense held the Spurs to 31% shooting and some timely unforced errors.

The W's carried that energy on both ends of the floor into the second quarter as well, holding the Spurs to 36% from the floor for the half along with four steals, six blocks, and six San Antonio turnovers. Monta ended up with 21 first half points on 9-12 shooting form the floor, including 3-4 from downtown. Not to be outdone, Curry dropped 17 and was 6-7 from the floor, including 3-4 from downtown as well. David Lee added seven points in the first half, while Kwame Brown added four.

Tim Duncan and DeJuan Blair each dropped 10 points in the first half, while Tony Parker has eight and four assists.

If the W's can keep from crumbling down the stretch like their last two games, they might just get out of San Antonio with their first win there in on over a decade.
