Warriors Officially Sign Nate Robinson

According to CSN Bay Area's Golden State Warriors insider Matt Steinmetz, the team has officially completed their deal to bring free agent point guard Nate Robinson to the W's.

Robinson underwent a successful physical earlier on Wednesday and is expected to join the team Thursday for practice in Los Angeles. Robinson will suit up as a Warrior for the first time on Friday against the Los Angeles Lakers at the Staples Center, quite the showcase for his opening act in the Bay.

Robinson moved back and forth between the Bay and the Seattle area growing up, matriculating at James Logan High School in Union City for a year, so this is a bit of a return to the Bay for Nate.

The 5'9" spark plug has bounced between the Thunder, Celtics, and Knicks in his six year career, averaging 6.8 points and 1.9 assists an average of 23 minutes a game. This move is seen as a risk by some, and his reputation as a me-first type of player doesn't really seem to fit with the team's new mantra, or defensive-minded style.

Many fans (including myself) had a nice facepalm when Kwame Brown was signed, though he has played decent in his time thus far. Hopefully the front office is simply pulling a 2010 San Francisco Giants by building a winning team of castoffs and misfits (fingers crossed).
