Warriors v. Cavaliers, NBA Score Update: Warriors Fight Back, Take 47-46 Lead Into Halftime

After a lackadaisical first quarter the Golden State Warriors clawed their way back into the game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, taking a 47-46 lead into halftime at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.

The Warriors improved their shooting in the second quarter, bumping the field goal percentage up to 46.3%, but continue their poor 3-point shooting going 2-7 (28.6%) from downtown. Steph Curry is leading the Warriors so far with 11 points, 5 boards, and 3 assists. Al Thornton had his first significant contribution to the W’s since being acquired at the trade deadline with 9 points in 11 minutes. Monta Ellis is struggling thus far in the game with only 4 points on 2-7 shooting with 2 turnovers. David Lee has 6 points and 5 boards.

Samardo Samuels is leading the way for the Cavs with 11 points and 4 rebounds, J.J. Hickson has 8 and 6 boards, while Baron Davis has 7 points and 3 assists in 7 minutes off the bench.

The Warriors turned the ball over 7 times in the half compared to the Cavaliers 4, and the Cavs have made 11 free throws compared to the 8 attempted by the Warriors. The Cavs continued to out rebound the W’s 25-18 as well. The Warriors also had an impressive 7 blocks as a team in the first half.

I have a feeling the second half is going to be tight; Golden State needs to keep their intensity they had in the second quarter alive the rest of the way or it will give the Cavs the confidence to take this game away from the W’s.
