NBA Free Agents 2011: Warriors Interested in David West?

As the Golden State Warriors prepare for the start of the 2011 season, Sports Illustrated's Sam Amick tweeted earlier Wednesday that Golden State, along with a number of other teams, are interested in two-time All-Star David West, formerly with the New Orleans Hornets

Source says Indiana, New Orleans, G. State and Washington have all expressed interest in former Hornets forward/2-time All-Star David West.

The Warriors showed some interest this morning when teams could start talking to player representatives once again, though with David Lee on the roster still, it seems interesting they would go after West unless Lee was a serious amnesty option for the W's (which he very well could be). The W's also have the least amount of cap space compared to these the other teams interested, which could be another hindering point.

West, 31, played 70 games for the Hornets last season, averaging 18.9 points per game as well as 7.6 rebounds per game. He missed the end of the 2010-11 season and playoffs after tearing his ACL, though how his knee healed up will be a big factor in his production, as well as interest from other clubs.
