Although there's great excitement in the Bay Area for the return of basketball, the Sacramento Kings and the Golden State Warriors are both not expected to make much noise this season. And the oddsmakers in Vegas seem to reflect that.
Golden State has 125/1 odds to win the 2012 NBA Finals and 40/1 to win the Western Conference, which is pretty low. The Warriors have a lot of young talent, but probably one of the weakest frontcourt in the leagues. Mark Jackson would probably have a tough time trying to get it all together.
Sacramento has 150/1 odds to win the 2012 NBA Finals and 60/1 to win the Western Conference, which is somewhere near the bottom, and definitely worst in the West. The Kings have a talented unit, but it's hard to see it all gelling together this season.
