ESPN.com writer, podcaster, and occasional guest on Pardon The Interruption, Bill Simmons will make his NBA in-game analyst debut with the Miami Heat at Golden State Warriors game, this friday, reports USAToday.com (via Golden State of Mind fanshot).
↵I've always enjoyed Bill Simmons as a writer but so far on television he looks like a deer in headlights. And I mean this to say that he has a frozen look on his face as he stares into the camera, his eyes glued to something just beyond the camera itself, perhaps a teleprompter (even if he's not staring at a teleprompter). His commentary is fine and funny as always as he draws from extra-NBA references to make his point. But from his work on ESPN's PTI, he needs to work on his delivery more. Or maybe his commentary is fine and I think any sports discussion necessarily involves unnecessary yelling all the time.
↵And I have to say I am thoroughly enjoying this opportunity to hear him crack some jokes at the Warriors expense. Honestly, humor or beer/alcohol is the only way that Warrior fans are able to get through a season, let alone a game or a quarter, even. If it goes well, lets hope Simmons becomes a regular or regularly calls Warrior games! Then maybe us Warriors fans won't have to resort to drinking to enjoy our favorite team to get mad about.
