After a scoreless 1st inning in Detroit, the San Francisco Giants jumped on the Detroit Tigers and right-handed starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez, jumping out to to a 2-0 lead in the 2nd inning.
Walks can feel like rallies in the playoffs and that's what happened after Hunter Pence worked a four-pitch walk to lead off the top of the 2nd. After a stolen base and wild pitch, Pence found himself on third base with just one out in the inning. This time it was Gregor Blanco with the heroics, hitting a deep fly ball towards right field for a triple and the run batted in.
It didn't stop there for San Francisco, as shortstop Brandon Crawford was able to dunk one just in front of Austin Jackson in center field, scoring Blanco from third base.
Giants right-handed starting pitcher Ryan Vogelsong pitched another clean inning of work, retiring Delmon Young, Andy Dirks and Jhonny Peralta in order, ending the 2nd inning.
