The hard slide that took Marco Scutaro out of Game 2 might not keep him out of the lineup very long.

San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy says there is a good chance Marco Scutaro will be available to play Game 3, after the Cardinals' Matt Holliday took him out on a hard slide in Game 2, Jamie McCauley of the Associated Press reported on Tuesday.

Holliday clobbered Scutaro on a hard slide in the first inning of the Giants' 7-1 win over the Cardinals on Monday. Scutaro remained in the game for five innings but eventually was removed.

X-rays on Scutaro's hip were negative and he is reported to have a left hip muscle strain. He traveled with the team to St. Louis, but it is still unknown whether or not Scutaro will play Game 3 on Wednesday.

Despite the injury, Scutaro still had 2 hits in 3 at-bats, with a pair of RBIs. He was replaced by Ryan Theriot at second base. Scutaro is batting .250/.300/.286 through the postseason, with 3 runs and 3 RBIs.
