Stanford Vs. Arizona State, Final Score: Cardinal Advance 85-65 Behind Chasson Randle's Career-High 30

The Pac-12 Tournament got underway earlier Wednesday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and the Stanford Cardinal and Arizona State Sun Devils locked horns to see who moves on to the next round. And behind a record-setting performance from Stanford's Chasson Randle, the Cardinal easily eliminated the Sun Devils by the score of 85-65.

The Cardinal (21-10, 10-8 Pac-12) were in control from the very tip, holding a double digit lead for the majority of the contest. Randle was simply unconscious tonight, setting a new Pac-12 record with 27 points in the first half, breaking Klay Thompson's old mark of 25 set last year. Randle cooled off in the second half, finishing the game with 30 points on 7-11 shooting including 6-8 from downtown. Aaron Bright had 11 and five assists, while Jarret Mann added 10. Josh Owens was a non-factor, scoring only two points on 1-6 shooting.

As for the Sun Devils (10-21, 6-12 Pac-12), they came out flat and never could get fully into gear, ultimately to their demise. They were led by Chanse Creekmur's 13 off the bench, while Jordan Bachynski had 11 and four rebounds.

The Cardinal now move on to face their arch-rival California on Thursday in the next round of the Pac-12 tournament, with tip-off set for 6 p.m.
