Cedric Dozier Sticks With Cal, Picks The Bears Over Washington State

The California Golden Bears have been hit hard the past few days by recruiting defections. Ellis McCarthy, Shaq Thompson, Jordan Payton have all left the Bears for schools like Washington and UCLA.

Cedric Dozier won't be joining them. The Lakes athlete held firm to his original commitment to Cal in an announcement at his high school, stopping the bleeding for a recruiting class that at one point was tops in the Pac-12.

Dozier is joining a wide receiver class that includes Bryce Treggs, Darius Powe and Chris Harper (potentially Kenneth Walker, although he's continuing to look around). The Bears should be able to stay afloat in recruiting with a few more commitments and maintain a top-25 recruiting class, and Dozier remaining on the path to Cal is a great bit of news for Jeff Tedford and Golden Bear Nation.
