Arik Armstead seemed all set to be headed to Cal before his future position line coach and current recruiter Tosh Lupoi departed for Washington. After that Armstead surveyed the situation, looked around for two weeks, and decided that the Oregon Ducks were his destination.
It's hard to fault Armstead for a decision where he'll be one of the most dominant linemen in the conference and almost assured of playing as soon as possible up in Eugene. He'll be one of the first big defensive recruits that Oregon has ever had, and he might turn loose as a defensive end in Nick Aliotti's aggressive schemes.
