The Stanford Cardinal did not look like a very good basketball team Wednesday night in their play-in game against the Oregon St. Beavers, and their season probably ended Wednesday night in a 69-67 loss. Oregon State wasn't much better, as both teams combined to shoot just over 34 percent from the field, miss 19 free throws and turnover the ball 21 times. Stanford and Oregon St. mustered 44 total points in the first half before the game devolved in a free throw shooting contest in the second half.
Jared Cunningham only shot 4 of 11 from the field, but went to the line 20 times and finished as the leading Beaver scorer with 24 points. Devon Collier was surprisingly efficient for the Beavers with 19 points on 8 shots and seven free throws, and Ahmad Starks was the offensive spark plug early, finishing with 15 points. Stanford could barely muster any offense other than early offense from Dwight Powell (11 points) and Jeremy Green's three point barrage (all seven of his baskets were from downtown as he finished with 25 points).
If you missed this game, the box score is really all you need in this one. Oregon State will face the Pac-10 regular season champion Arizona Wildcats on Thursday afternoon.
