The official announcement will be announced at 2:30 p.m. PT and will be aired on NFL Network.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame will name its class of 2013 on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. PT and some former Raiders and 49ers are among the potential inductees. Former-Raiders wide receiver Tim Brown and longtime 49ers owner Edward DeBartolo Jr. are two candidates for induction.

Both Brown and DeBartolo are among 15 modern-era candidates, of which a maximum of five can be inducted into the Hall of Fame. A nominee must receive at least 80 percent approval in vote from the Selection Committee to be officially inducted.

During DeBartolo's 23 years as the owner of the 49ers, the team was especially successful, winning an unprecedented five Super Bowls. Brown was the sixth overall selection in the 1988 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Raiders and stayed with the team for 16 seasons. The former Heisman Trophy winner was elected to nine Pro Bowls and retired with every major receiving record for the team.

The announcement of the Class of 2013 will be televised on NFL Network.

The car company's 2013 commercial features a white man from Minnesota speaking with a Jamaican accent.

The advertisement hasn't aired on television yet, but it's already drawing criticism as Volkswagen's new advertisement has drawn calls of racism, according to Mae Anderson of the Associated Press.

In the 63-second advertisement, already released in full on the Internet, a white man that says he's from Minnesota creates confusion in an office setting through his use of a Jamaican accent. It is later explained in the ad that he is expressing the happiness that comes with driving a Volkswagen through the accent. Other passengers in the car begin using the same accent.

Here is the commercial in full:

The advertisement plays into the stereotype of the happy-go-lucky nature of the Rastafari movement that is most commonly associated with the country of Jamaica. However, it's not a particularly offensive stereotype.

Volkswagen has had back-to-back successful years when it comes to Super Bowl commercials, sticking to Star Wars themed ads in both and drawing strong reviews for both. The 2013 commercial is scheduled to debut on Sunday during Super Bowl XLVII.

Steve Young had one of the best Super Bowls of all-time, but second-year quarterback Colin Kaepernick may be able to best him in the rushing statistics.

Among the list of funny Super Bowl prop bets, including the color of the Gatorade used to dunk the winning coach, are some very interesting historical matchups that are tough to weigh. Three such matchups on sports betting website, Bovada, look to compare the performance San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick to the performance of Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young in Super Bowl XXIX.

In one of the greatest Super Bowl performances of all-time, Young earned the game's MVP award after he led the 49ers to a 49-26 victory with a Super Bowl-record six touchdown passes. His final stat-line for the game was 26-of-36 passing for 325 yards with six touchdown and no interceptions as well as 49 yards rushing on five carriers, including a 21-yard rush.

Those numbers are lofty and will certainly be very tough for Kaepernick to keep up with, although the talented second-year quarterback may be able to challenge parts of the performance. On Bovada, Kaepernick's passing yardage, rushing yardage and longest rush are able to be compared to Young's.

While Kaepernick gets an 89.5-yard gift from the bettors in the passing game, his total rushing yards and longest rush have been left as even and the question is simply whether or not he'll reach the 49 and 21 yard marks.

After taking over as the starting quarterback for the 49ers in November, Kaepernick rushed for 50 or more yards just three times, while he finished with 31 or fewer in five games. In the divisional round of the playoffs he exploded for 181 yards rushing against the Green Bay Packers before settling for just 21 yards on two carries against the Atlanta Falcons.

On Sunday, he'll face the No. 20-ranked Baltimore Ravens defense, but his ability to run the ball will likely be predicated on the scheme of the defense and what they decide to force Kaepernick to do.

The defenses of both the Ravens and 49ers have given up an average of more than 400 yards in the postseason.

While the spread has slimmed some after opening in favor of the San Francisco 49ers by five points, it is still the NFC representative that is favored to beat the Baltimore Ravens by 3.5 in sports books as of Wednesday, according to OddsShark. Also dropping has been the over/under that originally opened at 49 and has since dropped to 47.5.

The 49ers have the NFL's No. 11 scoring offense, but they are definitely a run the ball, stop the run type of team that finished second in the league in points allowed. The Ravens finished just ahead of the 49ers with the 10th most points scored, but weren't as dominant a defensive unit, finishing No. 12 in points allowed and No. 17 in total yardage allowed.

In the playoffs, both the 49ers and Ravens defenses have played far below their league average in yardage allowed as both have allowed an average of 400 or more yards in their run to the Super Bowl. However, the 49ers recorded four turnovers in their two postseason games, while the Ravens recorded eight in three games.

Super Bowl XLVII at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome is scheduled to kickoff at 3:30 p.m. PT and will be televised on CBS.

San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore suffered bruised ribs in Thursday's victory against the Seattle Seahawks, but the injury doesn't concern him too much.

After an injury forced 49ers running back Frank Gore out of a Week 7 game against the Seahawks on Thursday night, X-rays showed that the three-time All-Pro has bruised ribs.

Gore accumulated 131 yards rushing on 16 carries Thursday night and added 51 receiving yards on five receptions. He left the game in the fourth quarter, however, with what appeared to be an injury to his back that stemmed from a hit he took in the second quarter. Gore stayed in the game until the final minutes of the second half and left when the 49ers were attempting to run out the remainder of the clock.

Following the game he downplayed the injury, telling Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee that 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh was just being conservative. "I'll be alright. Coach wants me to be smart," Gore said about leaving the game at the end. "We've got a long season, a tough road down the stretch."

Since being drafted in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft, Gore has started in 93 games and played in 107 and is less than 500 yards rushing from becoming the all-time rushing leader in 49ers franchise history.

After opening as three point underdogs, the lines have swapped in favor of the Oakland Raiders for Sunday's game and they are now favored to beat the Miami Dolphins by 1.5 points.

The swap in the odds happened despite a 22-14 loss on Monday Night Football that was only close because of a Rod Streater touchdown reception from Carson Palmer with less than a minute remaining in the game to cut the lead to eight points. However, despite the loss, the Dolphins were even less impressive in their 30-10 beat down at the hands of the Houston Texans.

The Texans scored 24 points on the Dolphins in the second quarter alone as they took advantage of three Ryan Tannehill interceptions and a Daniel Thomas fumble en route to a resounding victory. The Dolphins initially earned the favor of the odds in the opening lines, likely due to the fact that they will be the home team for a game in which the Raiders will have to travel a very long way.

Bovada lists the Raiders with the largest line in their favorite at 3, while 5Dimes has Oakland favored to win by 1.5 points. Both Sportsbook and TopBet fall in the middle with the Raiders favored to win by 2.5 points.

However, considering the injury is one that will not require surgery, despite how painful a broken shoulder blade may sound, the Raiders are hopeful for a return in as early as four weeks. With a Week 5 bye, a four-week recovery would set Bartell up for a return in Week 6 against the Atlanta Falcons.

Cornerback Pat Lee filled in for Bartell following the injury on Monday night and will presumably be the starter in Bartell's place in the immediate future. After a seven-year career with the Rams, Bartell joined the Raiders during the 2012 offseason on a one-year deal worth $3 million.

In the first game played in the newly renovated Memorial Stadium, the California Golden Bears were unable to earn the win in their opening game, losing to the Nevada Wolf Pack, 31-24.

The Bears struggled to get a good start in the game and fell in a 14-0 hole while starting quarterback Zach Maynard was benched for the first three series of the game as punishment for missing a tutoring appointment.

When Maynard entered the game, Cal slowly started to claw back with a 37-yard Maynard touchdown pass to true freshman Bryce Treggs and a 39-yard touchdown run by Keenan Allen.

In the fourth quarter, Cal tied the game with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Chris Harper, but a rushing touchdown by Nevada's Stefphon Jefferson with 36 seconds remaining in the game put a nail in the coffin for Cal.

The problem of the game for the Bears was their inability to slow down Nevada quarterback Cody Fajardo as he racked up 230 yards through the air and 101 yards rushing.
